After introducing the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, it is said that they both have an improved wireless connectivity for faster LTE download speed that can reach up to 150 Mbps. Apple claims that iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users can now enjoy faster download and upload speeds for browsing the web, streaming music, making video calls and more.

To put these claims to the test we searched the city for the spot with the absolute best reception we could find. Testing late at night, when network usage is lower, we were amazed at the speed the iPhone 6 was able to achieve.

Here’s a nice video from the folks at iClarified:

The video confirmed that the iPhone 6 does have faster LTE speeds than the iPhone 5s based on the Ookla Speedtest.net app. The iPhone 6 achieved consistent download speeds of 90 Mbps and maxed out at 111 Mbps. Meanwhile, upload speeds reached up to 27 Mbps on the iPhone 6.

During the iPhone 6 keynote, Apple SVP Phil Schiller revealed that these speeds are possible through a technology called carrier aggregation. A tear down of the new device reveals that it features the Qualcomm MDM9625M LTE Category 4 modem which offers up to 150 Mbps downlink data rates and 50 Mbps uplink data rates.

So what do you think guys ?
