A couple of days ago we have seen many reports claiming that Apple is going to hold a new event on October 16 where they will unveil the new iPad Air 2 alongside a new OS X Yosemite, iMac and more.. Earlier today new images has just surfed on the web showing Touch ID sensor, a thinner design and more…

The images comes to you from Vietnamese website Tinhte.vn, revealing a thinner chassis, Touch ID and no mute switch.

The pictures provide a closer look at the Touch ID fingerprint scanner akin to the latest iPhone models, alongside what appears to be the front-facing camera with a light-detecting sensor, speaker grills, microphone, power button and Lightning connector.

The user who posted these images on the Vietnamese websites claim that he iPad Air 2 is just 7 mm thin, which is virtually the same thinness as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at 6.9 mm and 7.1 mm respectively. The tablet even has the same elongated, pill-shaped volume buttons as the new iPhones.

It is also said that it will not have a mute switch button which can also be used to control orientation lock, has been removed as part of a space-saving effort.

The unfinished appearance of this iPad Air 2 model, particularly the rear shell, indicates that this tablet is not final hardware. As such, the inclusion of a mute switch or additional changes could be made prior to the device’s rumored unveiling later this month.
