Yes guys you can finally jailbreak your iPhone running on iOS 8.1.2 using a Mac. A group of Chinese hackers have released a new tool called PP Jailbreak to jailbreak iOS 8.1.2 on a Mac. This new tool allows Mac users to enjoy what Windows users have been enjoying for some time now.

Some important points before you proceed:
  • PP jailbreak supports following iOS 8.0 and iOS 8.1.2 devices:
  • iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S
  • iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2
  • iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini
  • iPod touch 5G
  • PP jailbreak is available for Mac (OS X 10.7 or later). Windows users can use the TaiG jailbreak. If you need help, you can follow our guide on how to jailbreak your iOS device on iOS 8.1.2 on your Windows PC.
  • Use iCloud or iTunes to back up any and all personal information that you need to keep safe. The jailbreak has been reported to be working in most cases, but on the off chance something goes wrong, it’s a good idea to have an escape plan.
  • Disable any Anti-virus programs or firewalls temporarily that could prevent PP Jailbreak from connecting to the internet.

Before you begin, make sure that you made the following things:

  • Backup your device using iTunes or iCloud.
  • Restore to stock iOS 8.1.2 firmware using iTunes. You can download iOS 8.1.2 from here.
  • Disable Find My iPhone and any Passcode or Touch ID set on your device.

All ready ? Let’s start..

STEP 1: Download the all new PP Jailbreak for Mac OS X from here.
STEP 2: Untick / uncheck PP checkbox found at the bottom left hand side.
STEP 3: Click the big jailbreak button in the center. Once you do that, the tool will take you to another screen, here click on the button on the right (not left) to continue the jailbreak process.
STEP 4: The jailbreaking process now should start, it may take a few minutes so be patient and once the jailbreak process is done, your iPhone should automatically reboot itself and you should see Cydia installed on your iPhone..

I have been able to personally confirm that this tool works for jailbreaking iOS 8.0-iOS 8.1.x on Mac OS X. What about you? What has your experience been like thus far? Sound off down below in the comments.
