Two days ago Digitimes reported that Apple is planning to add a second manufacturer for iPad in order to creat enough units for the launch of the new iPad in September. The report suggested Pegatron to be this second manufacturer.
According to industry sources, Pegatron Technology is unlikely to share iPad orders with Foxconn Electronics This Year. However Pegatron Technology is expected to land orders for at least 10 million units of the next iPhone. Foxconn has done everything they could to persuad Apple not to shift some of it’s iPad orders to other contractors for the moment, the source added.
Pegatron is now looking forword to land orders for iPad 4, Notebooks and Desktops from Apple in 2012.
