Fire Core has released the beta of aTV Flash (black) for Apple TV 2G. This beta version brings great functionalities to Apple TV 2G which includes a web browser for web surfing, access to the Last.fm radio stations, artist bios and slideshows, weather updates, Plex Client and more. Currently the beta version is available for Mac only and you can install the aTV on your Apple TV 2G running firmware 4.0. Windows version and firmware 4.1 support will be added soon. If your are an existing user then you can update to the aTV Flash (black) for free.
You can pre-order the aTV Flash (black) beta for $19.95 only whereas the final version will cost you $29.95.
