Ming-Chi Kuo of the KGi Securities has issued another note to clients predicting that Apple’s OLED iPhone 8 and the other two LCD-based iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus iterative models will ship with a traditional 5W power adapter just like the previous iPhone models. And a USB-A to Lightning cable should also be included as a standard accessory.
Kuo once reiterated his previous claim that the OLED iPhone 8 will have fast-charging capabilities, thanks to a USB-C Power Delivery Chip. On the other hand, Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis predicted a 10-Watt power adapter for the iPhone 8 with USB-C connectivity and faster-charging capabilities.
The future iPhone models are said to feature an all-glass design with metal frames around the body to support the wireless charging. It is a standard set by the Wireless Power Consortium, of which Apple is a member now.
To make use of the wireless charging capabilities available inside the device, the company will launch an inductive charger which will be sold separately, claims the analyst.
The analyst also claims that the new iPhone will feature ten to fifteen percent faster RAM modules as compared tot he iPhone 7. The improvements to the RAM will help in better-augmented reality performance int he apps that use the new ARKit framework.
For better dual-camera performance, the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 7s Plus may use a 3GB RAM module, while the 4.7-inch iPhone 7s will feature 2GB RAM since it lacks the dual-camera setup. In his previous note to clients, Kuo said that the iPhone 8 would feature 2D sensing for facial recognition and will not include Touch IDof any kind. He further added that all the 2017 iPhone models will come in 64GB and 256GB storage options and would have improved stereo speaker system as well.
