My MacBook Pro Now Needs a Daily Restart

2017 ended on a pretty bad note for Apple after a major security exploit was discovered in macOS and a bug in iOS 11 led to iPhones randomly restarting for millions of users out there.  As if this was not already enough, the company also confirmed that it intentionally slows down older iPhones due to their degrading batteries. This led to thousands of iPhone owners flocking to various Apple forums online to express their displeasure and how they felt cheated by the company.
