ioS 12.1 beta 3 is now available to developers now. Along with the new beta of iOS 12.1, the company has also seeded watchOS 5.1 beta and the tvOS 12.1 beta 3 to developers as well. The third beta of iOS 12.1 comes one week after the availability of the second beta and three weeks after the launch of iOS 12 – a major software update for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
If you are a registered iOS developer, you can download iOS 12.1 beta from Apple’s developer center. If your device is already running a beta version of iOS 12.1, simply update to the latest beta over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Installing OTA beta update requires a properly configured beta profile. The guide linked below everything related to iOS beta 12.1 installation:
Apple promised several new features for iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max but some of those features could not make it to the devices through iOS 12. So, iOS 12.1 is meant to bring those features to the new devices. The beta versions bring support for the eSIM – a digital SIM that allows you to activate a cellular plan from a carrier without using a physical SIM.
Carriers will have to implement support for eSIM.which is likely to happen after iOS 12.1 final version. Not all carriers are going to support eSIM. In the US, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile will support eSIM.
Other new features of iOS 12.1 update include a new real-time Depth Control feature. This allows you to adjust the depth of the field in Portrait Mode before capturing the photo. Before iOS 12.1, Depth Control is only available after capturing the photo. Group FaceTime feature is also available in iOS 12.1, which allows 32 people to simultaneously group chat with each other. The update also brings 72 new Emoji characters.
If you have installed ioS 12.1 beta on your device, let us know if you encounter something new in the operating system.
