Apple has been on a roll today with a number of applications announcement during its education media-related event like iBooks 2, iBooks Author and iTunes U.
Apple has in addition unveiled a new update for iTunes, version 10.5.3 bringing the textbook-syncing program to the new update.
“iTunes 10.5.3 allows you to sync interactive iBooks textbooks to your iPad. These Multi-Touch textbooks are available for purchase from the iTunes Store on your Mac or from the iBookstore included with iBooks 2 on your iPad.”
iTunes 10.5.3 doesn’t really add any new features except the textbook syncing. So, unless you plan to use iBooks, there isn’t really a need to update.
